Seavus Project Viewer now fully supports opening Password Protected Files. Project managers have the ability to decide to protect the .mpp file for viewing and only appropriate team members can view the project information. When a user tries to open password protected file with Seavus Project Viewer, a dialog window will pop-up asking the user to enter the password.

What type of file format is .ssv?
.ssv (Seavus Secure Project File) is file format that is generated from Microsoft® Project while using Seavus Secure View add-in. It allows project managers to lock and hide columns that contain information which is not appropriate for certain team members and save it in .ssv file format. When this file is opened in Seavus Project Viewer, users will view only the information that the project managers have determined will be displayed.

The ODBC data source will allow Seavus Project Viewer to access data in DBMS (DataBase Management System) using SQL as a standard for accessing the data and present the information to the user.

How can I export project information in Microsoft® PowerPoint?
Seavus Project Viewer collaborates with Microsoft® PowerPoint trough Export to Microsoft PowerPoint function. You can select which task and which task's information will be exported. The selected information will be exported in Microsoft® PowerPoint in previously prepared template, where you can make changes in the presentation.

How I can send one task instead of entire project plan?
Seavus Project Viewer allows users to send entire project plan or single task to other team members via Microsoft® Outlook. For this purpose, select the task that you want to send, click on the right mouse button and select the Send Task feature.

What is Contextual printing?
Contextual printing (or Print with Seavus Project Viewer) is feature that allows you to print the project plan faster (directly from the Windows explorer) that in the usual way. You have to select the .mpp file, right click on the mouse button and select the Print with Seavus Project Viewer feature. This will lead directly to the Print window in the application. You only need to click on the Print button and have printed version of the project plan

When I can use the Mail Recipient (As Schedule Note) in the Send to sub-menu?
Besides sending the project plan to other team members, Seavus Project Viewer allows you to send picture of the group of several tasks which you think that are important for your team member. With this feature you can send both the picture and the project plan. The file format of the picture is .jpg.

There are notes in the project plan, but when I select the Print preview option they are missing. How can I print them?
Open the Page Setup window in Seavus Project Viewer and in the View tab select the Print notes feature. After performing this action, all notes in the project plan will be printed on separate page(s).

Can I import a project created in Microsoft® Excel?
Seavus Project Viewer supports importing project plan made in Microsoft® Excel. For this purpose, you have to enter in the Microsoft® Excel template (Excel Template.xls) all necessary information regarding the project plan (duration, start and finish date, predecessors, resources, outline level of the tasks, notes, information regarding the resources, etc).

What is the best use of Relationship diagram?
The best use of the Relationship diagram within Seavus Project Viewer is with the Split window feature. In the top pane, you can select the Gantt Chart and in the bottom pane place the network diagram. Any time when you select one task from the project plan in the top pane (Gantt Chart), you will view the immediate predecessors and successors of that task in the bottom pane (Relationship diagram).
