The Seavus Project Backup and Archiving Tool is a client/server application which is specifically designed to work on Microsoft® Project Server. This is a web based application which allows the MS Project Server administrator to backup, restore and archive specific projects from one database to another.
Microsoft® Project Server, at present has no workaround feature which can allow the enterprises to back-up, restore and archive their projects. This tool represents a safe way to backup, restore and archive each individual project, instead of backing up the whole MS Project Server database.

Back-up and Restore Feature

This feature allows for the backup administrator to create snapshots of single projects leaving the project in the main database, while copying a project snapshot on the backup database. In the future stages, this will let the project managers restoring capabilities of any project at the last backed up date in case of any data loss. Also, the server administrator can set up specific scheduling times as requested by the project owner for each individual project on the main project server.

Archiving Feature

The archiving feature can be implemented for both finished project and projects on hold.

When finishing or terminating a project, the project can be archived on a specific database, and be completely deleted from the MS Project Server. This can bring new project closure feature by using this project clean-up and archive tool.

In addition, the archiving can be used for project on hold, when a project is postponed for a definite or indefinite period. This will facilitate the access to the relevant and active project on the MS Project Server.
